This 3-session CoP is for faculty and staff educators interested in building stronger connections across the arts at Bates. Through short readings, case studies, discussion, and collaborative brainstorming, participants will explore how interdisciplinary creative practice can enrich teaching, learning, and artistic inquiry on campus. Together, we’ll move beyond disciplinary silos to examine what makes each artistic field distinct, where meaningful intersections emerge, and how we can create learning experiences that better prepare students for an increasingly integrated arts landscape.

The series will progress from theory (What is it that we do?), to practice (How do artists develop, refine, and revisit their work?), to public sharing (What does it mean to present creative work through exhibition or performance?), offering space to imagine new collaborations that strengthen our collective creative community.
