Harpsichord concert to be given by Russian-born Israeli

Harpsichordist Zvi Meniker will perform J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations at 8 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
The Russian-born Israeli also performs organ and fortepiano. Trained in Basel, Switzerland and at Cornell University, Meniker is a member of the music faculty at the Leipzig Conservatory in Germany. He previously taught at Duke University.

Goldberg Variations is the tour de force of the harpsichord repertory,” said James Parakilas, professor of music. Meniker’s performance is co-sponsored by the Bates Concerts Committee and the Department of Music.
