Response Rate Results

The Bates College Staff Engagement and Well-Being Survey was open between Tuesday, February 27 and Friday, March 29.

Our response rate goal was for all staff at Bates College to participate in the survey. Every response matters and is valuable in providing the most beneficial feedback and results.

As of April 30, our response rate is 68.1 percent.

The collected data is now being analyzed, and the results will be shared with employees in late May. After receiving and reviewing the results, the next step will be to create an action plan based on the feedback you provided.

About the Survey

The campus staff engagement and well-being at Bates College shapes the lives of all of us. Understanding deeply the varied experiences of our community is a critical part of continuing to improve how we work toward creating a more inclusive and equitable campus environment.

That is the goal of the staff engagement survey.

This assessment will allow us to better understand the experiences of our community. We know from the research that thriving campus climates contribute directly to overall success for students, staff, and faculty. The results will assist us in better understanding our learning, living, and working environments (what we are doing well and where there are challenges). This is an opportunity for you to ensure your voice is part of this effort.

Staff Engagement Matters

The research literature supports that the campus climate influences the levels to which students, faculty, and staff members thrive. People who feel connected and supported by their campus communities have a higher likelihood of success in every area of their lives.
