Orientation for the Class of 2014 helped ease first-year students into Bates life by offering something for everyone: time to settle into residence halls, hiking in the White Mountains during AESOP, hearing greetings from President Elaine Tuttle Hansen and considering the Convocation address by Professor of Religious Studies Marcus Bruce ’77, who looked at the “Shared Vocation” that Bates’ newest students are entering into.
