ASIAN STUDIES ALUMNI

  With Asian Studies’ emergence as a free-standing interdisciplinary program--with faculty appointments, a lounge in Coram, and hopes for a single place to call home in the future--the Asian Studies committee has also tried to keep in closer touch with our recent graduates.  We envision a newsletter about our graduates, which will serve as a way both for everyone to keep in contact and for prospective Asianists to learn about the diverse and fascinating careers our graduates have pursued since leaving Bates.  What follows is the first step towards that newsletter and evidence of the imaginative ways students of Asia find careers with connections to Asia and the world beyond.
