The first step for taking an exam in the Accessible Education office is to register for your exam using AIM. Students are expected to sign up to take their exam on the date that students will be taking their exam in class, unless granted faculty approval. All students are required to register for their exam at least 3 Business Days prior to their requested exam date/time. Any exam requests that are registered 24 hours or less before their exam date/time will be denied.
Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to plan for their exam along with their other classes. Please be mindful of your next class meeting time when selecting an exam slot. Additionally, no student should be missing a class in order to take an exam for a different class.
Students should plan to arrive five minutes early for their assigned time, to allow for time for check-in and should leave all belongings outside of the testing room, except for allowed materials (i.e. pen/pencil, calculator, notes, etc.), as directed by their instructor. Students will check in with the testing center administrator, leave their phone in the office, and receive their exam and ending time. Students will then select their seat (or individual room if approved) and receive any other appropriate materials (i.e. computers for accommodated students).
Students are expected to sign up at least 3 business days, and no later than 24 hours, prior to their final examination. All students must take their final examinations on the directed date, unless otherwise approved (See: Request to Move a Final Exam).
Due to the amount of students testing during final exams, the Office of Accessible Education will utilize a second testing space in Chase Lounge. The office will make every attempt to satisfy accommodation needs of students that will be testing in the secondary location. Should you have any concerns, please contact the Director of Accessible Education.
