Charge of the Committee: The Athletics Committee is composed of faculty, staff, and students who work in tandem to amplify the integral role of athletics in the College. The committee works to advance productive relationships among Bates students, coaches, faculty, and staff. The committee collaborates on policies and initiatives to promote equity and inclusion for all participants in programs supported by the Department of Athletics, including students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Composition: Three to four members of the faculty outside the physical education department; three to four students; director of athletics, associate dean of students for campus life, ex officio. The committee size will be modified with the consent of the committee chair.
