Bates to hold spring noonday concerts

The Bates College Noonday Concert Series continues with five concerts scheduled for the months of April and May. The free concerts, open to the public, will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, at the college’s Olin Arts Center Concert Hall, 75 Russell St.

On April 22, guitarist Bill Shimamura will perform original compositions. On May 6, cellist William Meyers will perform. On May 13, pianist Colin Britt, a student of Brian Franck and sixth-grader at Pettingill School, will perform Beethoven sonatas and original compositions.

Performers for concerts on April 29 and May 20 will be announced at a later date.
