Video: Boats busted, Bates got a boost to win last year’s NCAA rowing title

After their racing shells were damaged in transit from New England to California, site of the 2015 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, Bates got a little help from some friends.

Loyola Marymount University and the University of Virginia each lent boats to Bates, and the Bobcats went on to win the Division III title. Here’s a video story that prominently features Bates rowers:

In December, Bates head rowing coach Peter Steenstra and 2015-16 women’s team captains Emma Conover and Emma Taylor traveled to St. Louis to join the presentation of a Musial Award to Loyola Marymount University and Virginia.
