Regional events, Winter Carnival, and more

Hello, Bates Families –

Students have just received the latest update on testing trends and public health policies, and we know it will be welcome news.

Other resources to share with you this week include:

  • Did you know that the Bates Multifaith Chaplaincy supports students who describe themselves as “religious, non-religious, spiritual, non-theistic, or whatever identifier works best”? MFC offers numerous ways for students to pause, connect, and reflect, including small gatherings, opportunities to use art as a contemplative practice, and more.
  • We are excited to share that Bates will host in-person regional events in New York, Boston, and Washington DC over the next few months, and we look forward to visiting other cities around the US after that. Watch for further details – we can’t wait to see you in person!
  • Would you like to join our email list for MOSAIC families? If you or your student identifies as Black, Indigenous, or as a person of color; as LGBTQIA+; as first-generation to college; or as international, let us know at parents@bates.edu if you’d like to receive periodic updates about MOSAIC programming.

With the safe return to Commons, Winter Carnival in full swing, and the Puddle Jump on the calendar for next Friday, we hope your students enjoy the Bates community to the fullest in week ahead.

With best regards,

The Bates Parent Team
