Flutist Ariel J. Cahn ’96, of Belmont, Mass., will perform a senior recital assisted by pianist Frank Glazer at Bates College on March 16 at 8 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
The recital’s featured presentations will included the sonata “Undine” by Reinecke, a challenging 19th-century work for the flute and piano, and “Sonatine” by Dutilleaux, a modern French virtuoso selection.
Cahn, a Bates College senior music major and graduate of Belmont High School, is the daughter of Janice Cahn, 57 Raleigh Road, Belmont, Mass., and Frederick Cahn, of Plainsboro, N.J. Glazer, artist-in-residence at Bates since 1980, served as a member of the artist faculty at the Eastman School of Music for 15 years. A founding member of the Eastman Quartet, the Cantilena Chamber Players and the New England Piano Quartette, he is co-founder of the Saco River Festival Association.
