Bates student presents senior thesis concert
Bates senior Courtney Elf of Sandy Hook, Conn., will perform a senior thesis concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
The program features three of Elf’s compositions, including a flute sonata, a set of six a capella chamber choir pieces about the life of Christ and a string quartet. Pianist Mark Howard will accompany Elf for the flute sonata, and solos also will be performed by Shannon Elf, a Bowdoin College student, and John Corrie, a member of the Bates music faculty. The string quartet includes Maine performers Matt Szemela of Auburn, Patrick Doane of Kennebunk and Julie Anderson and Shannon Allen, both of Portland.
