About

Jessica Anthony ’96 is a novelist and director of the Creative Writing Concentration. She is the author of Enter the Aardvark (Little, Brown 2020), the multimedia novel Chopsticks (Penguin/Razorbill 2012), and The Convalescent (McSweeney’s/Grove 2009). Anthony’s books have been published in a dozen countries and optioned for film, and are featured in Time, Newsweek, Esquire, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times Book Review as an Editors’ Choice. Anthony is the inaugural winner of McSweeney’s “Amanda Davis Highwire Fiction Award,” and she has received fellowships from the Creative Capital Foundation, the Bogliasco Foundation (Italy), the BridgeGuard Foundation (Slovakia), and the Maine Arts Commission. In 2021, she will spend a month in residence as a research fellow at the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington.
