Technology and research can sometimes feel complex, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Our staff is committed to providing friendly, expert assistance with a “people-first” philosophy. If you have questions or need technical support, our doors are always open. We offer specialized hubs for assistance tailored to your needs:
- The Resource Desk and Reference Librarians: Visit the Resource Desk for guidance on navigating library materials and information services. It is staffed by friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable experts who are ready to help you find exactly what you need. Our Reference Librarians are also available to partner with you on in-depth research and academic inquiries.

- The IT Service Desk: For all things technology, including software troubleshooting, hardware support, and training. Our team is eager to ensure your technology works for you and not against you. We believe in empowering our community through education. One-on-one training is available if you are learning something new or revisiting old skills that may improve your daily work. We are happy to sit down with you to ensure you feel confident using the tools available at Bates.
