Enjoy an out-and-back walk to Seawall Beach. This walk is 4 miles round trip on paved and dirt roads with about 500 feet of elevation gain. The path goes through forests and saltwater marshes. Lunch and transportation are provided. Pre-registration required.

Remember: The Science of Memory and the Art of Forgetting by Lisa Genova ’92 highlights ways in which memory operates in everyday life – how memories are made and retrieved, the difference between normal and problematic forgetting, and strategies that can enhance remembering. The discussion is facilitated by Olivia Kim, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Bates, Carole Martin ’74, Visiting Associate Professor of Psychology at Colorado College, and Gina Nordini, Associate Director of Parent Giving and Engagement. 50th Reunion Riverwalk
Peter Hollis ’74 and Don McDade ’74 will lead a walking tour of Lewiston-Auburn. Stroll along the Androscoggin River and through downtown as you learn about the river and the community that has grown up along its banks. The tour will also stop at the John T. Jenkins Memorial Bridge. The tour is a flat 2.5 miles on paved sidewalk. Bates will provide a bus between campus and the start/end points of this tour. If driving yourself, meet at 35 Canal St. in Lewiston. The tour will finish at Maine MILL, where Executive Director Rachel Ferrante ’10 will provide a tour of the museum to anyone who is interested.
