Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance, Scott McPheeters, is eager to share an immersive media and dance performance experiment researching Maine’s primary bedrock, granite – how it was formed, it’s mineral composition, how it invites a consideration of deep geologic time, and how it might act as a metaphor for the beauty that can result from moments of significant turbulence, friction, and heat.

This work has been developed through an IMStudio residency at the college with support from the Bates Faculty Development Fund and the IMPACT21st team.
