Our faculty provide the foundation of the Bates experience. The relationships our students develop with faculty are consistently cited by students as the most important part of their Bates experience.

To sustain an active, engaged faculty at the top of their fields, to address the rapid proliferation of knowledge, and to meet changing patterns in student interests, Bates is committed to expanding the size and diversity of the faculty with first-rate teachers and scholars.
