  • 14:44:21 From Jacqueline Lyon : Does this follow the question that asks only for covid-related care to be reported?
  • 14:46:56 From Kika Stump : The question about remote teaching experience was the 5th question on the survey. It followed a question about “problems with technology”
  • 14:51:03 From Jacqueline Lyon : I’m not sure if your response was to me, Kika but I was hoping to get clarity around if the fact that men reported more care v. women was because the question only asked for care related to covid to be reported. That is, those who have pre-Covid care responsibilities would not be counted by the question.
  • 14:55:55 From Kika Stump : Jacqueline (and everyone) – sorry, misinterpreted your question. general care question is first in the survey but follows intro text that asks responses to consider “context of remote learning” so that is an important consideration. Thank you for raising that.
  • 14:57:47 From Gina Fatone : Yes, thanks for raising, Jacqueline, and for responding, Kika. I had a question mark there in my notes.

  • 15:24:53 From Larissa Williams : Does the college plan to help increase “consistency” in teaching across faculty? It is not clear what consistency means to students. This seems difficult for a variety of reasons, but this inconsistency may be further exacerbated when some courses in the fall are fully f2f, some are hybrid, and some are all online?
  • 15:25:30 From Larissa Williams : QUESTION: Does the college plan to help increase “consistency” in teaching across faculty? It is not clear what consistency means to students. This seems difficult for a variety of reasons, but this inconsistency may be further exacerbated when some courses in the fall are fully f2f, some are hybrid, and some are all online?
  • 15:27:56 From Jacqueline Lyon : It seems like the explanation is that the question specifies changed related to covid. I think that it
  • 15:28:08 From Jacqueline Lyon : it’s misleading to not give the full information.
  • 15:28:41 From Justine Wiesinger : QUESTION: I got the message from this presentation that it may be unrealistic or a mistake to try to replicate the full on-campus experience through distance education, but then that last quote seemed to be encouraging somehow finding some way to replicate “the Bates experience” online to be delivered worldwide. How do we bridge that gap? Or am I misinterpreting the messages?
  • 15:30:22 From Jacqueline Lyon : QUESTION How do you suggest we approach teaching evaluations given that individual students have expectations about synchronicity that counter best practices for accessibility and equity?
  • 15:34:06 From Margaret Imber : Re consistent policies – consider reaching out to the fall planning group. DOF, and/or AAC and requesting policies for faculty
  • 15:35:13 From Larissa Williams : Neither do we!
  • 15:35:53 From Andrea Gager : +1 Larissa!
  • 15:40:42 From Larissa Williams : Thanks everyone! This and the written documents were super helpful

  • 15:41:44 From Carole Parker : Thank you!
