Dale Chapman is Professor of Music at Bates College. His research primarily centers on the political economy of contemporary music. His book, The Jazz Bubble: Neoclassical Jazz in Neoliberal Culture, was published with the University of California Press in 2018. His work has appeared in the Journal of Popular Music Studies, the Journal of the Society for American Music, Popular Music, the Oxford Handbook of Sound and Image in Digital Media, the Oxford Handbook of Music and Advertising, and the Bloomsbury collections Cybermedia: Science, Sound, and Vision and Transmedia Directors: Artistry, Industry, and New Audiovisual Aesthetics.
