Senior Associate Dean for Purposeful Work at Bates

Allen oversees the growth of the Bates Purposeful Work Initiative and the integration of Purposeful Work philosophies and programs with the work of the Bates Career Development Center, and across the college. Prior to Bates, Delong spent 12 years at Bowdoin College in senior student affairs roles, working closely with the cultural centers, outdoor programs and the community engagement center. A native Mainer from “The County,” Delong holds a Bachelors from the University of Maine; a Master’s Degree from the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
