The Harward Center Team (Darby Ray and Morgan Kinney) and Professor Laurie Baker (Math/Stats) are seeking 1–2 creative, organized students to help design the Community-Engaged Data Hub, a new WordPress page accessed from the Harward Center that will showcase data-driven projects connecting Bates students, faculty, and community partners. The site will highlight examples, tools, and stories from community-engaged data-related courses.
-Design and build the site in WordPress.
-Write and edit content for community and faculty audiences.
-Organize photos and project highlights.
-Research similar websites and propose effective layouts.
-Incorporate feedback from Harward Center staff, faculty, and community partners.
-Attend weekly meetings with the supervisory team and present work at monthly partner meetings.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Experience with WordPress (preferred).
-Strong visual design sense and attention to detail.
-Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines independently.
Mentorship: You will work directly with Professor Laurie Baker and Morgan Kinney at the Harward Center.
