The Milestone Reunion Intern works throughout the academic year on projects that support Reunion, which takes place each June. Reunion welcomes back alumni to campus to reconnect with friends and strengthen their ties to Bates. This position will work with staff to support class-specific community building efforts, specifically with the 50th Reunion Class.
Work closely with Advancement staff to coordinate and carry out class-specific Reunion program needs. Patience with meticulous work and attention to detail is required. Responsibiliites may include:
– Collaborating with Muskie Archives and using their digital collection to find and save photos, obituaries, class catalogues, dorm assignments, professor inforation and other information requested
– Preparing slideshows
– Preparing large mailings
– Proofreading alumni biographies
– Creating class-specific swag, such as pennants or buttons
– Organizing/inventorying supplies
Access to a laptop and internet and the ability to pay close attention to details with minimal supervision along with basic computer skills required. Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, Word Docs and Excel preferred. Preference is also given to applicants who are able to work Reunion Weekend in June, but it is not required.
Works closely with Annual Giving and Reunion staff within Advancement.
Work in an office setting and also potentially remote. Ability to lift packages/boxes weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally required. Basic computer skills required. Applicant must be extremely detail oriented.
