BIO Animal Care Worker (S9954C)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
This position requires a very high standard of animal husbandry. Student workers will be responsible for feeding, watering and taking excellent care of research animal. This position requires 24/7 care for all the animals, Weekday and weekend work available.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- General husbandry for animals housed in the colony (feeding/watering and cleaning tanks and cages). Recording daily information and relaying any pertinent information regarding the health of the animals to their supervisor or professor.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
Applicants required to have a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and attention to detail. They must be able to work independently, dependable and honest. A science background or previous experience with research animals is helpful.
Workers will report to Mary Hughes, Animal Care Coordinator. Applicants may also work closely or need to report to professors housing the animals when needed.
The animal colony is a quiet lab. No music is allowed inside the animal rooms. Workers will properly trained to use certain equipment. Student workers need to be able to lift 50 lbs.
