The Bates Sustainability Office is hiring two head farmers for Short Term and the summer season. We are looking for candidates that have strong farming experience, and farm management is preferred. Knowledge of crop rotation, cover cropping, organic farming practices, and vegetable pests a plus. Commitment to a 20 hour work week throughout the summer is required.

Typical farm physical labor, planning, etc. The job entails complete oversight of the Bates Garden, which includes: Raising seedlings in the greenhouse Transplanting and trellising Composting Direct seeding and mulching Weeding and watering Organic pest control Harvesting and washing produce for Dining
