CPW: Digital Marketing Assistant (S99935)

Summary

Digital Marketing Assistants demonstrate knowledge of the mission and goals of the Bates Center for Purposeful Work and possess the creative skills to inform fellow students about Purposeful Work (PW) and its resources. Working closely with the Coordinator of Marketing, Operations, and Outreach, this role bridges social media management, content creation, and graphic design to drive student engagement across all PW marketing channels.

Responsibilities

Increase awareness of Purposeful Work’s philosophy, services, and upcoming events through digital channels such as:

Social Media & Analytics: Curate and manage the @batespurposefulwork Instagram account, leveraging data insights and preparing analytics reports to increase engagement. Brainstorm, propose, and execute original social media campaigns to advance program goals. Research and share Bates Alumni success stories related to Purposeful Work programs.

Content Creation & Event Coverage: Capture dynamic content at PW events (on and off-campus), including photos, Instagram stories, and video reels. Produce fast, creative visual content that clearly communicates PW’s philosophy, services, and upcoming events.

Graphic Design & Digital Marketing: Design eye-catching print materials (flyers, posters) and digital assets. Create custom graphics to promote PW resources (such as Handshake) through the PW Weekly newsletter and other channels.

Requirements

Required:

  • Demonstrated creative ability for content creation, photography, and basic photo editing (Lightroom/Photoshop).
  • Knowledge of Instagram and experience with design platforms such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Strong collaborative spirit and willingness to incorporate feedback from supervisors and team members.
  • Curiosity and drive to research and implement innovative marketing techniques.

Preferred:

  • Comfort level appearing in photos/videos and an outgoing personality for digital storytelling.
  • Ability to rapidly generate and execute creative ideas under short deadlines with clear communication.
  • Familiarity with video editing workflows (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Avid).

Reporting

Reports to Marisela Flores Pineda, Graphic Designer & Communications Coordinator. Works closely with the other Digital Marketing Assistant/s as well as the Purposeful Work Staff (students and professional staff)
