Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Bates Dining, Conferences and Campus Events is the food service provider for the campus, which includes student dining in Commons. Cashiers act as the first point of contact for Commons, monitoring access and running the point of sale register.

This position calls for someone who has an eye for detail and a friendly and welcoming disposition, capable of working in a fast paced environment. The ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds and exemplary organizational, communication, and time management skills are a must.

Must be able to cover the entire shift.

• Sunday 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
• Monday 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
• Tuesday 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm

• Friday 4:30 pm to 9 pm
• Saturday 4:30 pm to 9 pm

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


- Monitoring access at either the front or back door to Commons - Assisting guests approved to obtain to-go packaging, as needed - Processing departmental charges - Processing sales for internal and external customers - Bussing and washing tables

Requirements


- A courteous, customer service-oriented attitude - Experience with point of sales is desired but not required. Training will be provided.

Reporting


- Reports to David Evans - Works closely with other managers on duty (MODs,) supervisors and DCCE staff

- Ability to sit for long periods of time. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
