FS: Landscape Assistant (S9762B)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This job involves the maintenance of landscape beds on campus. The work includes raking out leaves and old mulch, weeding, edging, basic pruning and application of new bark mulch.  Students will be working outside at all times.  Students may also be involved in planting annual flowers as weather dictates.

Required Education: Completion of high school Desired Education: Some horticultural related classes Experience: Experience related to plant care


Landscape Assistants report to Grounds Department and works closely with other Physical Plant employees.


Landscape Assistants work mostly outdoors, but some time will be spent in the greenhouse. These students must be able to bend, stoop, lift, carry, and perform tasks requiring moderate strength. Gardening hand tools and hand saws will be used often.
