BIO: Greenhouse Worker (S9698B)

Summary

This position covers the general care of all the plants the greenhouse. Weekends and weekdays are needed to cover some shifts. Weekend shifts work on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
watering plants, repotting, fertilizing, dead heading, checking for bugs, loading and stocking supplies.
Other duties include sweeping, cleaning out pond area, general housekeeping and dishes.
General maintenance of greenhouse and to check daily for temperature and water concerns.

Requirements

No plant experience required but would be helpful. I great attitude and ability to work independently are a must.

Reporting

All greenhouse workers report to Mark Lessard.

Working Conditions

The temperature of the greenhouse is quite comfortable most of the time. There will be times when the temperature is higher than usual (during warmer months of the year). Student workers are required to lift 50 lbs and be able to perform some light physical duties.
