Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Campus Life and Campus Activities & Traditions (CAT) are seeking two individuals to serve as Campus Events DJs. These DJs will be responsible for providing music at CAT and student club events, mostly in the late night setting (from 9:00pm to 2:00am).

Attend weekly CAT meetings.

Work closely with other CAT members and student club leaders to provide music at late night events. This includes consulting with event planners to understand their vision for an event, creating a set list, and reacting to attendees live at events to create an ideal music experience.

Campus Events DJs may also be asked to assist Assistant Managers of Late Night Programming with planning events.

Requirements


Should have an understanding of a large variety of music genres and how they are received in a late night setting by a diverse audience. Ideally, should have an understanding of current popular music. Must be organized, responsible, personable, and enthusiastic about student-led and -driven programming. Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff. Must be able to respond to communications in a timely manner (no more than 24 hours except under special circumstances). Should have an exceptional ability to multitask and engage in time management. Must be able to adhere to established project deadlines. Should have an awareness of Bates social life, and a vested interest in events and programming.

Reporting


Reports to CAT managers and Campus Life staff, and works closely with other CAT student employees.
