Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Being the Bobcat requires participation in various on and off campus events including athletic contest, college functions including Homecoming, Parents and Family Weekend, Reunion, Mt. David Summit, Winter Carnival and March Madness. The Bobcat supports college pride in all appearances and endeavors. The Bobcat Handler accompanies the Bobcat by providing direction and support while foreseeing situations that require directional assistance, communication with fans, and coordinating props.

The Bobcat and Bobcat Handler must be enthusiastic, fan-friendly, have Bates spirit and Bobcat pride, agile, animated, responsible and reliable, and in good health and physical condition.

Please Note: An audition is required for this position. There will be frequent evening and weekend work and occasionally travel which includes meet and greet, photo shoots, autographs signing and physical performances.
