Loan Servicing Information for Federal Perkins Loan Borrowers


Effective July, 2018, all Federal Perkins Loans previously serviced by Conduent will be transferred to and serviced by Heartland ECSI, a leading provider of student loan servicing and higher education services. If your Perkins Loans are currently in repayment (or deferment/forbearance), here’s what you need to know about the transition.

Who will be servicing my Federal Perkins Loan?

Perkins Loans are being transferred from Conduent to Heartland ECSI in early July. During the transition, there will be a brief period of time when neither Conduent nor Heartland will be able to provide you with information regarding your loan. Heartland ECSI will be able to answer any question you have regarding your loan or payment schedule when the transfer is complete.

Accessing your loan information with EasyPath 

After the transfer, Heartland ECSI will reach out to you with information and instructions regarding your student loan payment schedule. You’ll be able to create an online profile through EasyPath, from which you can manage your account, view your payment history and access online documents. You can also download an EasyPath mobile app by visiting the iPhone App Store or Android Marketplace.

Setting Up Recurring Payments

If you are currently making automatic recurring student loan payments to Conduent, it’s important to know that any remaining scheduled payments will be cancelled. You’ll need to set up a new recurring payment schedule with Heartland ECSI, which can be done by creating your EasyPath profile and selecting Make A Payment.

If you’ve already made your current monthly or quarterly payment to Conduent, your payment will be forwarded to Heartland ECSI. Please note that while it may take up to 15 business days to post your payment, no late fees or negative credit reporting will apply during that time.

If you are currently enrolled in school, are in your grace period, or are in deferment/forbearance, no payment is due at this time. You will be begin to receive billing statements from Heartland ECSI prior to your first payment due date
