Students who have symptoms of COVID-19 can call or email Health Services to set up an appointment with a nurse. Health Services’ nurses will assess your symptoms and provide testing and treatment as clinically indicated. This may include testing for illnesses such as COVID-19, influenza, strep, and mono etc.
Students who do not have symptoms of COVID-19 can access testing through local pharmacies. Students can schedule an appointment or purchase at-home tests. The State of Maine is partnering with Walgreens to provide free rapid antigen testing that is administered on site at Walgreens locations statewide. For more information, see Walgreens testing information. In addition, the Bobcat Express can take students to any Walgreens location. They can schedule an appointment with the Bobcat Express to be taken by themselves, or they can go between 5 pm and 9 pm during the normal L/A Express loop.
Insurance Reimbursement for the Cost of At-Home Tests
We recommend that all students have at-home tests in their rooms, and you can be reimbursed for these tests via your health insurance plan.
If you have health insurance through the Wellfleet Student Health Insurance Plan, a family’s employer or the Marketplace, your insurance will pay you back for 8 at-home tests each month for each person on your plan.
Students who are enrolled in the Wellfleet Student Health Insurance Plan can access information about over-the-counter testing reimbursement here, and follow the instructions below:
- Complete the COVID-19 OTC Test Reimbursement Form;
- Send the completed form, receipt from seller, documenting the date of purchase and price, and the UPC label from the COVID-19 test box to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students who are enrolled in an outside health insurance should contact their health insurance carrier or find more information on the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website here.
