ADM: Access Coordinator

Bates’ Admission Office is committed to welcoming and celebrating prospective students from different backgrounds, abilities, and identities. Though access work feeds throughout all of our interactions with students, families, faculty, counselors, and staff, we aim to provide intentional and equitable programming designed to invite students from historically underrepresented and/or underserved backgrounds to campus and/or the Bates community more widely, helping students get a feel for our offerings on and off of campus. ADM: Admission Ambassador Coordinator

Ambassador (formerly Tour Guide) Coordinators are the logistical and managerial leads of the Ambassador/Tour Guide program in the Admission Office, providing direct support to Admission staff, Ambassadors/Tour Guides, and Senior Fellows, in addition to helping shape the future of campus visitor experience in our office. Coordinators are an absolutely integral part of both daily and long-standing visitor operations. Professional development opportunities, abilities to learn more about Admissions work, and continuous training processes will all be available to Coordinators throughout the year. The Admission Summer internship is a full time, on-campus summer opportunity. Helping prospective and admitted students, their loved ones, and any visitors at large feel comfortable with our campus and our community is a critical piece of our work and, over the summer, the Summer Interns are leaders in helping prospective/admitted students to begin seeing themselves as members of the Bates community overall. Summer interns work as a tight-knit team, and are an integral component to the Office of Admission during this peak season for prospective students to explore Bates, in-person and virtually. The Senior Fellow position is an integral part of Bates Admissions and serves as a leadership position in our office, complete with opportunities to represent the Bates student experience in all of its complexity and diversity, connect with prospective students and families, and learn more about the vast professional world of Admissions at large. Senior Fellow responsibilities include co-leading in-person information sessions with a member of Admission staff to welcome prospective students, their families and loved ones, and special guests to campus and the Bates community.
