Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

 

The role of the Editor-in-Chief entails supervising Section Editors and ascertaining that each section meets the quota of articles needed for publishing. This individual must have a finger on the pulse of the campus and community and connect Section Editors with Community leaders as well as students, staff, and faculty on campus. The Editor-in-Chief is required to write at least one article per issue, however the number can increase if needed. This position also consults with Layout each week and gives the final read through before sending the publication to print.

Requirements


Applicants for this position must be entering senior year. Requires at least 3 school years working for the Bates Student in some capacity, and at least one year as a Managing Section Editor.
