Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Social Media Coordinator for Campus Life utilizes multiple social media platforms to promote and enhance awareness for Campus Life and student club initiatives. The Social Media Coordinator will work on an as-needed basis, and will be given assignments by Campus Life staff.Leadership Development

Responsibilities


The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for: Developing and maintaining a cohesive and versatile online brand for Campus Life. Creating a consistent “personality” in the social media posts made through Campus Life accounts. Posting to Campus Life social media accounts regularly, with a goal of maintaining engagement and increasing followers. Developing social media campaigns to engage the campus community Promoting Campus Life and student club initiatives. Contributing to the overall creative process driving Campus Life marketing in conjunction with the Graphic Designer. Attending all meetings and training required for the position.

Requirements


Have deep experience with mainstream social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and SnapChat. Professional aspirations and/or experience in social media marketing preferred. Must be organized, responsible, personable, enthusiastic and able to work well with others. Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff. Must be able to respond to office communications within 24 hours except under special circumstances. Should have an exceptional ability to multitask and engage in time management. Must be able to adhere to established project deadlines. Should have an awareness of Bates social life, and an interest in events and programming. Applicants are asked to provide three work samples with their application, demonstrating proficiency in social media marketing. -Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff. -Must be able to respond to office communications in a timely manner (no more than 24 hours except under special circumstances). -Should have an exceptional ability to multitask and engage in time management. -Must be able to adhere to established project deadlines. -Should have an awareness of Bates social life, and an interest in events and programming. -Preference will be given to work study students. -Applicants are asked to provide three work samples with their application, demonstrating proficiency in social media marketing.

Reporting


The Social Media Coordinator reports to Campus Life staff. They will work closely with the Graphic Designer.

Working Conditions


The Social Media Coordinator will complete most work remotely, on their time, with some meetings in an office environment.
