Maureen Buckley has co-authored Mentoring Children and Adolescents: A Guide to the Issues (Praeger, 2003) with Susan Hundley Zimmermann. Maureen is an associate professor of counseling at Sonoma State Univ. in California. The guidebook, providing an overview of mentoring and information on its role in the development of young people, should prove useful to anyone who cares about young people and youth issues, including school personnel and youth group leaders.... The class is saddened by the death of Chris Hobler, of ALS, on Feb. 16, surrounded by his wife, Jennifer, and family, friends, and caregivers. The foundation he created after the disease afflicted him, ALS Hope (now Hope Happens) has made grants totaling almost $3 million. Chris' obituary will be in the summer issue.... Charles Prast is now CEO of Care Concepts I Inc. The firm's assets include Web auction sites, a South Florida radio station, a 40 percent stake in Penthouse Media Group (formerly General Media Inc.), direct rights to certain Penthouse trademarks, and an agreement to acquire iBill, a leading credit card processor for Internet sites.... Lt. Col. Stephanie Smith writes: "I just returned from an eight-month deployment to Iraq where I worked on post-conflict reconstruction of the judiciary in Iraq. Reside in Chesapeake, Va., with husband and two children."... Nadia White writes: "On leave from my newspaper job in Casper, Wyo., I am back in Boulder, Colo., to study wildlife management, virology, and, hopefully, ceramics on an environmental reporting fellowship."
