Curriculum

Courses levels and sequencing

In order to allow for as much flexibility as possible, the curriculum in French and Francophone Studies does not have a strict and rigid sequence.  In the chart below, all courses grouped in the same color after Fr201 are equal regarding their linguistic and cultural complexity. All courses that are grouped in the same color can therefore be taken in any order and it is not necessary to take all courses of one color to move to the next level. Before the registration period, we encourage all students to consult with a professor from the department to discuss what course would be the most beneficial and rewarding, whatever their trajectory, be it major, minor or general advancement in the field.
