    • Application/Approval.
      • With trip notes, the trip can be sent in for approval to Catie.

      • Once the trip is approved, you can access Bates Engage as a Trip Leader and send out communication.
    • Go!
  • Day vs. Overnight. (Mithcell)
    • Trips vary depending on who is leading them; someone who is not a trip leader can plan a trip and either become certified to lead the trip or find a trip leader to lead the trip.
  • Past Trips That Have Gone Well? (Mitchel)
    • Acadia trip over Fall Break 2022.
    • Day trips.
    • Skill seminars, so people are prepared and know what they are getting into.
  • Trip Notes Breakdown. (Mitchel)
    • Trip leaders can go on a trip with a maximum of six members to one trip leader.
    • On the most extensive trips, there will be two leaders and twelve members.
      • This could also change due to capacity reasons.
    • Climbing is four members to one trip leader ratio.
    • Cross Country is three members to one trip leader ratio.
    • Trip note applications are as specific as possible.
    • It is important to understand evacuation access guidelines.
    • Detail specific plans for anything that could go wrong and how that can be prevented.
    • Regarding cost, vans are $80-90 a day, and other expenses such as food, lodging, and admittance need to be accounted for.
      • There is no set budget for any trip, but it should be within reason, in regard to justifying expenses.
    • Once you have a Trip Note application complete, you can bring it to Mitchel or Catie, and they can approve/help you fill in the gaps.
  • During February Break, there is a Cross Country ski trip planned.
  • During Short Term, there is a white water rafting trip planned.
  • Questions.
    • Is the BOC able to hire guides to help with high-level trips?
      • It has been done before and could be possible with valid reason and within budget. (Ethan)
    • Is there a more casual way to plan trips, such as reimbursement for gas and communication through the BOC for causal trips?
      • Due to liability, the BOC tries only to use vans, but anyone can go to the E-Room and borrow the gear to go on more casual trips. (Mitchel)
