Trips 2024

On this page you can find information about all of the AESOP trips for 2024 including a brief trip description, information about the leaders for each trip, Advertised Classifications, and available amenities. Make sure to read this information before making your trip preferences in Garnet Gateway.

The Advertised Classifications will give you a better understanding of criteria such as how far a trip is from medical care or how active a trip will be. You can find more information about those classifications and what they mean here.

Additionally, you will find trip descriptors that will let you know information such as whether the trip is an Affinity Trip or whether it is sleeping on campus. These designations are placed next to the name of the trip (e.g. ArtSOP- BIPOC Affinity Trip (sleeping on campus)). Affinity trips are designated to build community for individuals who hold or support these identities. Sleeping on campus means the trip will sleep on campus rather than on site at their trip location.

Acadia Climbing

Acadia Adventure 3

Hi future AESOPers!!! My name is Darien Chiang and I am a rising sophomore, planning on completing the 3-2 engineering program here at Bates. I am from Quincy, Massachusetts, and yes before you ask it is just. outside. of. Boston. I am so excited to be leading Acadia Adventure and be exploring all that this beautiful national park has to offer. In my free time, you can catch me riding around on my onewheel, playing spikeball, or drinking orange juice at commons. I also love listening to music and recently I have been in a little Mt. Joy, Mo Lowda, Wild Rivers type of vibe. Finally, I am a coxswain on the men’s crew team and I also play on the club hockey team here at Bates. I am so stoked to meet you all and I can’t wait for this AESOP trip to start

Hey there, future baby bobcats! I’m Maggie Blanding, a rising sophomore. I am SO excited to introduce you guys to the wonders of Maine. Hailing from White Bear Lake, Minnesota (let’s not even talk about “bag”). I love the great outdoors. Whether I’m up at Sunday River (proud member of the alpine team!), lounging by the beach, or indulging in my slight coffee addiction while tackling Wordle puzzles, I’m always up for an adventure. Can’t wait to meet you all and dive into the beauty of Acadia!
