Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Program Manager assists in the overall operation of the Bates Club Sports Organization. This role focuses on ensuring Student officers follow policies put forth by the Club Sport Handbook, have the resources they need, and provide a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for all participants. Program Managers not only help train Club Sport Supervisors but also serve as their mentors, offering guidance, feedback, and support. They provide Supervisors with the tools and confidence to succeed in their roles while modeling leadership and professionalism within the Club Sports organization.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Work closely with Department of Athletics professional staff to facilitate and support the Club Sport Organization. Understand and educate club officers on the policies and procedures of the Club Sport Handbook Meet regularly to support the growth of club sport officers and club sport programming Ensure clubs follow Club Sports policies and procedures Keep track of club budget workbooks and provide education to club treasurers on financial accounting and forecasting Develop and execute club officer training resources Help plan travel and transportation for away events Keep track of equipment and supplies Share pertinent updates and policies through a variety of communication channels, including digital and in-person. Assist in the Facilitation the Club Sport Council (CSC)

Requirements


Strong organizational and time management skills Clear and professional communication Ability to work well with peers, staff, and campus partners Basic knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets Comfort with budgeting and record-keeping Reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude

Reporting


Reports to: Professional staff in Athletics and Recreation Coordinates/Works Closely with: Club sport officers, club sport athletes, and other Athletics staff Student Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides guidance to student Club Sport Supervisors and oversight to club sport officers and participants in alignment with College and Club Sport policies

Working Conditions


Primarily based in fitness and recreation facilities, which can be busy and loud at times Some work may be remote or take place across campus buildings and outdoor fields Evening and weekend hours may be required to support practices, games, and events
