ADM: Senior Admission Fellow (S9989C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Senior Fellow position is an integral part of Bates Admissions and serves as a leadership position in our office, complete with opportunities to represent the Bates student experience in all of its complexity and diversity, connect with prospective students and families, and learn more about the vast professional world of Admissions at large.

Senior Fellow responsibilities include co-leading in-person information sessions with a member of Admission staff to welcome prospective students, their families and loved ones, and special guests to campus and the Bates community. In addition, Senior Fellows will have regular weekly shifts covering the front desk, involving checking guests in, answering emails from prospective students, and working closely with our Operations Team for further logistical tasks. Based off of applicant interests and needs on the staff side, Senior Fellows will assist Admission staff with a variety of special projects, which could include, but are not limited to, event planning and programming, virtual events/programming, social media, and connecting with and planning programming for students from specific backgrounds (i.e. international students, students from historically underrepresented/underserved backgrounds, students from specific geographies, students with specific interests, etc.). Professional development opportunities, abilities to learn more about Admissions work, and continuous training processes will all be available to Fellows throughout the year.

Successful candidates will be excited, hard-working, personable, flexible, communicative, responsible, timely, and creative.

We strongly encourage students of all backgrounds, life experiences, interests, and identities to apply. This is absolutely a role where we celebrate the complexity of the Bates student body at large.

***Please note that the Cover Letter requirement for this job position will not be judged in any way based on formatting or professionalism. Feel free to be creative in answering and please focus on answering the questions, “why are you excited about and interested in the Senior Fellow Position?” as opposed to just “why are you qualified for the Senior Fellow position?”***
