Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Our website, bates.edu, gets over 10 million page views per year and is maintained by over 400 campus WordPress users. The student in this position will take the lead on helping our campus web users work within WordPress optimally. They will also support the college’s communications efforts by assisting with various digital projects such as social media outreach and SEO). 6-20 hours/week. This position will be for the fall semester, with possible extension through the winter semester and/or Short Term.

 

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Interface with campus WordPress users
  • Answer web-related questions and promote best practices
  • Conduct basic website content maintenance
  • Improve the quality and efficacy of bates.edu
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements


The student in this position should have experience with content management systems and customer service. S/he will meet regularly with the Supervisor and the team to collaborate and receive direction, but should also be self-motivated and capable of moving projects forward independently. Experience with WordPress, HTML, and Google Sheets is preferred.
