Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Summer position working in the Bates Garden.

Shifts vary but garden workers will be expected to work 30 hours per week

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


- Must be able to work independently with little supervision. - Involved in planting, crop management, harvesting and record keeping.

Requirements


- Experience with gardening is helpful. - Ability to use gardening equipment, dollies and food carts. - Some computer experience required. - Must be able to lift 50+ lbs

Reporting


Reports to Bates Sustainability Manager and to the Assistant Vice President for Dining, Conferences & Campus Events. Works closely with Associate Director of Culinary and Retail Operations, Assistant Director of Culinary Operations, and dining staff.

Working Conditions


- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment up to 35 lbs. - Work occurs primarily outdoors in all types of weather
