Elizabeth Rush, author of Rising

Harvey. Maria. Irma. Sandy. Katrina. We live in a time of unprecedented hurricanes and catastrophic weather events, a time when it is increasingly clear that climate change is neither imagined nor distant—and that rising seas are transforming the coastline of the United States in irrevocable ways.  If attention is a form of prayer, as Simone Weil suggests, how exactly is climate change attuning ours to the the world of which we are a part? In this talk Elizabeth Rush will explore how citizens, artists, and activists around the county are rising to meet the challenge of rising seas.

Followed by an opening reception in the Museum of Art
