Barry Nemett: Drawings From Italy

October 10, 2009 – March 27, 2010

This exhibition presents a selection of works made on travels to Italy to work from its landscape. Barry Nemett, is chair of the Painting Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has received numerous awards, including two from the Alfred and Trafford Klots Residency Program to paint in Brittany, France, and a Ford Foundation grant to support his work in Italy.

In addition to visual works, Nemett has penned a novel, a textbook, as well as his most recent collection of writings and art: Paintings, Poems, and Passages, which will be available for signing in the Museum of Art immediately following the Artist’s Talk and Book Signing: October 29, 7 p.m., Olin 104
