Welcome to the Office of the Registrar and Academic Systems!
The Office of the Registrar and Academic Systems maintains the permanent academic records of all students. The office oversees and provides services related to the curriculum, course registration, production of the Course Schedule each term, classroom scheduling, grades, transcripts, transfer credit, enrollment certifications, and diplomas. Enrollment-related data is regularly provided for use by administrative offices and academic units throughout the College.
The Registrar’s Office is located in Lane 110 and is open for walk-ins Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm until May 30. Beginning June 2, the office will be open for walk-ins Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We can answer general questions, accept completed forms, and offer other types of general assistance during those hours. We recommend making an appointment if you need more detailed assistance to ensure that the staff member who’s best equipped to help you is available when you visit the office.
If you’re requesting that we complete a form or prepare other documentation on your behalf, please be sure to make your request or drop off your paperwork with ample time before your deadline, typically three to five business days.
The Registrar’s Office inbox and phone line are monitored Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. If you’d like to make an appointment, please reach out by email or phone and include your Bates ID number and a brief description of what you need help with.
Email: registrar@bates.edu is the best way to contact the Registrar’s Office. Putting your request in writing helps us quickly route your request to the right person to ensure that you receive the assistance you need.
Phone: Please note that transcript requests cannot be accepted via phone. Bates has partnered with Parchment to accept transcript orders electronically, and official transcripts can be requested here. Most inquiries are best addressed in writing via email, but you can also call us at 207-755-5949
