ATH: Student Facility Manager (S99932)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Supervise the daily operations of Athletic Facilities that include but are not limited to: Serving as Manager-on-Duty (MOD) and point of contact for members, guests and other student employees; maintaining programming, student employee’s operations and safety of facilities; providing customer service; opening and/or closing of facilities; serving as primary responder for emergencies and risk management issues; and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
 Supervise and promote sportsmanship of members and guests during open recreation activities
 Perform facility opening and/or closing procedures; Complete set-up and teardown of open recreation equipment; Assist with facility access control, safety and security
 Perform daily tasks including hourly headcounts, door checks and space walkthroughs
 Act as the leader of student employees on-duty by supervising daily responsibilities, providing direction and problem solving, and monitoring accountability and performance
 Serve as the primary responder for emergencies including completing appropriate documentation and reports as detailed in the Emergency Action Plan
 Provide reservation and event management for internal and external events on a rotating schedule
 Maintain thorough knowledge of and monitor proper equipment use; accurately follow direction and diagrams; complete event responsibilities in a timely fashion
 Perform facility and equipment preventive maintenance as needed
 Support on-duty employees with customer service, procedures, discipline, crowd control and injuries
 Complete facility reports and safety/liability audits related to maintenance and risk management
 Perform administrative responsibilities as assigned to assist with sustaining effective operations
 Manage Athletic Facility Lost & Found
 Complete training and regularly utilize the following software programs: WhenToWork, OneNote, Connect2, GoogleDocs
 Maintain a strong knowledge of, communicate and enforce all guidelines and procedures
 Maintain a safe, enjoyable, secure, and clean environment for members, guests, and staff
 Attend and assist with conducting all staff meetings, in-services and trainings
 Uphold the mission and values and be an active representative of the Department of Athletics
 All other duties assigned as by the supervisor and other Athletics staff

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Work environment can be warm and noisy at times. Also may be required to work outdoors in cold or warm temperatures and weather. Physically demanding and requires the ability to: climb stairs; push, lift and carry heavy load; distinguish colors in accordance with color-coded system; stand for long-durations.

Requirements


 Must hold current certifications in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider/AED and First Aid or have the ability to obtain within the first 30 days of employment (Athletics will provide trainings)  Flexible schedule; hours include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and summer if available (minimum of 7 weekday hours or two shifts per week)  The ability to effectively monitor and communicate to members, guests, co-workers, and professional staff while maintaining a high standard for customer service and safety; Reliable conflict resolution skills  Implement organizational and management skills as they relate to personnel, report writing, and completion of appropriate paperwork and tasks  Punctuality, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines; Good oral and written communication skills  Indoor and outdoor work required  A valid driver license is preferred.  Ability to lift 45 pounds  Weekends scheduled on a rotating basis (not included in 7 weekday hours)
