The lecture will focus on cultural posters advertising film, theater, and circus events from the 1960’s through the 1980’s in Poland.  As public art the poster mirrored the cultural spirit and struggles of the Polish people while asserting its freedom of expression and form during the Communist Era.
A reception follows in the Museum of Art.

The posters are part of a recent gift to the Museum of Polish and Cuban graphic arts from Dale Doody, in honor of his parents, Omar and Leitha Doody.
