Straw cleaner!!

It would be amazing if we could add a straw cleaner brush to the water bottle cleaning station to really get in all the crevices of our icky bottles and make them nice and clean.

I totally get it—as a fellow reusable straw user, I feel your pain! We put one out today, and I’ve already ordered more for the stash.

A tale of two trees (and one map)

For at least 151 years, a hemlock and its close neighbor, a red oak, have grown up together on the Bates campus, close enough to overlap branches, while buildings popped up around them. Their survival is a mystery but thanks to a new interactive historic map of Bates, their shared history can at least be glimpsed.
