Re-invented Intern’s Blog

interns-blog-pictureIt is difficult to revive a project that has been inactive for a year, however, having the resilient spirit of Bates College, we decided to undertake the project of revamping our blog, through the lens of us, the Interns.  The blog is to serve both as a journal and the child of our interests, where we will be providing the student body and the greater Lewiston and Auburn community with updates of the various projects that we are all engaging in and the amazing things occurring in a general sense here at the Bates College Museum of Art.  This Fall Semester our team includes four distinguished interns: Lillie Shulman (4th year) who is majoring in Art History and French and who has just returned from her year abroad in France, Meg DiRuggiero (3rd year) who is also majoring in Art History, Emerson Krull (2nd year) who is majoring in Environmental Studies with a focus in art history and Latin America, and myself, Jose Luis Herrera (4th year), a major in both Studio Art and Political Science. Our positions include Curatorial Intern, Collection Management Intern, and Social Media Intern. The positions serve the purpose of insuring the success of the museum, while allowing us to pursue our interests and aspirations.  Stay tuned for weekly blog posts!

Sincerely,

José Luis Herrera
